Our Store

Exclusively located on the second floor of the Wallace Bishop building, our humble store may be hard to spot but it's worth the look.  Inside you will meet our friendly and talented staff who will guide you through our impeccably maintained store which boasts two fully equipped piercing rooms, a dedicated sterilisation room, wheelchair accessibility, and a dazzling range of high quality jewellery, all in one convenient Queen St Mall location.

Our Piercers

Because we are piercing specialists we are able to provide a wider range of services than other stores, and are confident in guaranteeing a result you will love. We currently have two fully qualified piercers on staff: Ana and Jackie. Both piercers have had 15 to 20 years of piercing experience and were trained by Australian piercing pioneer Lynette Rose. While Jackie and Ana share different insights on piercing both have a high commitment to quality, safety and comfort for their customers.

OUR Front of house

We have three staff members who are there to assist you and support our piercers. These ladies will usually be the first person you speak to in person or on the phone.  They share a passion for their industry and are eager to assist you with your bookings, questions, jewellery, and care instructions.

Our Trainees

Some staff members have begun training to become piercers themselves and are performing basic helix, tragus and navel piercings at a heavily discounted rate. If you are interested in volunteering as a piercing model, assisting to train the next generation of piercers, and saving some money while you're at it, call in store and  let us know!

Our Legacy

Opened in 1994 by Lynette Rose, The Piercing Shop was the first official piercing shop in Queensland. Lynette was a self taught piercer whose fascination and perfectionism quickly turned her piecing hobby into an obsession and a prolific career. She broadened her knowledge and experience while road tripping around the USA during the piercing boom. When Lynette returned home to Australia she opened a small home business in her garage and The Piercing Shop began.

The business continued to grow and soon had to move into a professional store front, hiring staff and training a new generation of piercers, overcoming Brisbane's initial scepticism of the demand for body piercing. Despite Lynette's passing in 2015 her influence, experience, and enthusiasm for piercing have remained constant in our studio.

The Piercing shop's prestigious legacy continues though our piercers Ana & Jackie, who apprenticed under Lynette. Having become accomplished piercers in their own right, the two have over 30 years of piercing experience combined and have brought The Piercing Shop into a new era.

The Piercing Shop has become a meaningful place to many people across generations and our team continues to strive to provide excellence in all we do, and to provide piercings and memories to last a life time.
